About Emma

I am an experienced editor and have worked extensively for established production companies and facility houses in Johannesburg and Cape Town. I have delivered programming for broadcasters both locally and internationally.
I am first and foremost a story teller, this is where I get my greatest inspiration.  My areas of expertise include educational and corporate videos, inserts, documentaries, music videos and multi camera work. I have a passion for sifting through substantial amounts of footage, identifying the key material and piecing it together to tell a succinct and engaging story. I particularly enjoy manipulating visuals and music in a way that binds the content into a coherent reality with emotive impact.
In the past two years I have used my editing knowledge to move forward into the world of directing. This new role has allowed me to generate my own ideas and follow them through to the edit and final mix stages; a process that gives me great satisfaction.

My relationship with the company spans over a decade, but most recently, as a full time employee in the position of senior editor for Top Billing.  In the last two years I moved into a subject matter that was closer to my heart and helped establish Top Billings’ sister show -  Top Travel.

My role at Top Travel was as director, editor and supervisor of the entire post- production process, delivering a 26 episode series for SABC3 and thereafter re packaging for international distribution.

In July 2009, I spent a month in South America, conceptualizing, directing and producing five 24min episodes for Top Travel Season2 on HD format.
